Chevy Chase Modernization

Client Insight

The existing home felt disjointed, with a series of poorly executed additions that created inconsistent floor and ceiling heights. Spaces lacked flow and functionality, including a primary suite where the bathroom and closets were awkwardly positioned on a half level above the bedroom. The clients were looking for a home that felt cohesive, efficient, and modern—better suited to how their family lives.

Design Approach

We removed the poorly constructed additions and reimagined the layout to create a more cohesive and functional home. By relocating the stair and introducing light-filled spaces with taller ceilings and larger windows, we brought clarity and openness to the plan. Each new intervention was thoughtfully integrated with the existing structure, resulting in a seamless design that enhances both flow and livability.
